Peace in the Park
Loveland
Sat., Sept. 11Fort Collins Friends Meeting will participate in the Peace in Park festival on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from noon to 5 pm at the Loveland Foote Lagoon behind the Loveland Public Library on 4th Street. This will be our third year of participating.
Peace in the Park is a community festival organized by Lovelanders to celebrate the local movement for peace and justice. Previous peace festivals have been a tremendous success and preparations are underway for the fourth year. Last year about 1000 people came together to think, talk and learn about how we can create peace within ourselves and within our communities and world. Many organizations presented peace activities, individuals demonstrated their peace work, musicians and dancers performed for peace and students spoke of peace work happening within schools. In the past, Fort Collins Friends has distributed literature, talked to folks about our testimonies, and had activities for children.
